Welcome to the Skol Sport Shop. We are a family owned business that has been serving the Greater North Shore Area for over 35 years. We are located on Route 1A in Ipswich near the fire station. We have put together general information on our sports products and services on the following pages.

We believe in the idea that the family comes first. We are dedicated to community service, providing sporting goods and services to the local area schools and sports clubs.

Skol Sport Shop is a family owned business that was established in 1965 by George and Beverly Shaw. It originally began at the Rowley Ski Hill as a ski rental service for ski area. Hundreds of children from the Greater Ipswich area had their first skiing lesson from George Shaw. In 1966, the Skol Sport Shop moved to its current location at 20 Central Street in Ipswich, MA. We have over 5,000 square feet of retail, display, storage and workshop space on three floors.

Skol Specialty Sweatshirts

The Skol Sport Shop offers Specialty Sweatshirts with a variety of designs, including Crane Beach, Ipswich Town Seal, and Ipswich High School Tigers logo.

We have both hooded and crewneck sweatshirts, as well as tee-shirts.

We have Adult Sizes, including Small (S), Medium (M), Large (L), Extra Large (XL), and Extra Extra Large (XXL).

Colors include: White, Ash, Navy, Oxford, Red and Green.

Skol Services

A prime emphasis at our sport shop is Service. We provide an array of services, including bicycle repair, ski tuning, and skate sharpening.

Bicycle Repair includes tire and tube replacement, bracket and crank services, wheel builds and full adjustment of brake and shift systems. Ski Tuning includes tuning the ski edges to your particular style of skiing, as well as hot waxing.

We offer other services, such as skate sharpening, inline skate and skateboard bearing services, and seasonal rental of cross country and downhill skis, boots and bindings.

Bike Repairs are our specialty. Our professional mechanics are ready to handle any problems that you may have. From flat fixes, to wheel builds, to shock overhauls, we do it all.

Our quality service stands out in several areas. First and foremost, our turn around time for repairs is the fastest in the area. We can have your bike back to you the next day if necessary. Other shops are often backed up more than two weeks during mid summer peak, so don't wait, give Skol Sport Shop a call.

Our rates for service are often much less than our competitors, although the service is on par with, if not better than other shops.

When it comes to Ski Tuning, let some of the best ski tuners in the area serve you. Before visiting the ski slopes, make arrangements to have your skis tuned. Tuned skis perform better and provide greater safety.

We use the best ski tuning equipment and then wax your skis with racing wax to assure you the best gliding properties. We guarantee everything we touch. We have made our name as a tuning center and know what we're doing.

Bring in your boots and let us do a binding check as well. All binding manufacturers recommend testing your bindings with a calibrator at least yearly. Bindings DO change with time, whether you use them or not. Be sure NOT to talk yourself out of this check because you are an "intermediate" skier. The truth is that beginners and intermediates are seven more times as likely to be injured as "experts". Be safe, not sorry.

We offer equipment and accessories for athletic teams, including baseball, basketball, field hockey, football, hockey, lacrosse, and soccer. We can Special Order at any time of the year.
